Adult Autism Assessment

Cost:

I charge $750 for the full assessment process. This equates to about $100/hr of my time & includes the cost of materials. I do not accept insurance for the assessment process.

At the time of scheduling, I require a deposit of $150 to hold your spot, which will go towards the cost of the assessment. $50 of the deposit is nonrefundable.

In the event you need to cancel: if you cancel two weeks or more before your session, you will receive $100 of your deposit back. If you cancel within those two weeks, you forfeit the whole deposit. In extenuating circumstances I may be able to reschedule an appointment - please contact me to discuss.

It is an option to split the remaining $600 into two payments if you would like. The first of those payments is due at the time of the first session, and the second payment is due two weeks later. If you’re paying the entire amount at once it will be due at the time of the first session.

I offer neurodivergent-affirming autism assessments for adults* using the MIGDAS-2. Unlike other autism assessment processes, the MIGDAS-2 is intended to highlight your unique strengths & differences, and rather than rely on the outward presentation of your neurotype for assessment, it allows you to describe how you are impacted on the inside. This is particularly important for assessing high-masking individuals & those who have been traditionally left behind in the autism assessment process.

  • Before the first session: You will complete screening questionnaires, intake paperwork, and developmental history, and I will review before we meet

  • MIGDAS-2 Assessment: We will meet for a 90 minute session to explore your unique sensory profile & communication, language, and social preferences. Part of the process includes speaking to someone who knows you well, who can provide insight about your day to day life. You may bring this person with you, or I can connect with them by phone

  • Analyze & Organize Info: After the assessment session, I will analyze all the information I’ve gathered and determine the assessment outcome. I will also compile tailored, strength-based recommendations and guidance toward next steps that I will share with you in the follow-up session

  • Follow-up Session: We will meet for a 60 minute session 2-3 weeks after your initial appointment to go over your assessment results, any questions you may have, and your personalized recommendations

  • Report: About 2-3 weeks after your follow-up session, you will receive a comprehensive report by email that details my findings and explains your diagnosis**

I am trained to assess verbally fluent individuals (including those who use written speech as a means of communication). I am not able to assess folks without verbal fluency at this time.

*I may assess teens 15 and older on a case by case basis. Please contact me to discuss

**Please note: if you know you are seeking accommodations through government-funded programs (ex: disability), you will need to be assessed by a psychologist. My assessment is best suited for individuals who are seeking to better understand themselves, or those who have reason to believe their work/school does not require a psychologist to diagnose
