“I challenge the idea that anything is “wrong” with you and model compassion and gratitude for the survival mechanisms that have gotten you this far.”

My therapeutic approach is rooted in a relational psychodynamic foundation, meaning I believe our therapeutic relationship and trust in one another is the most important intervention I could ever provide. The harm you have experienced in relationship to other humans is most wholly healed in relationship as well. I am neurodiversity-affirming and queer-affirming and it brings me joy to see all the unique ways humans push against the cookie-cutter ideals pushed by mainstream society. I don’t take myself too seriously, and rather than position myself as an “expert”, I prefer to see myself as one human walking alongside another human as we collaborate to help you move forward.

I also hold two truths for my clients; the first being that the medical model of diagnosis is flawed, pathologizing, and rooted in various forms of oppression, while the second truth is that diagnosis can be incredibly liberating for some. I have found this to be particularly true with my neurodivergent clients who have finally found words to describe why they have felt so different for so long.

About me…

I believe that every human is valid and whole as they are, at any point in the therapeutic journey. In our work together I will honor the patterns and tools you have lived with to survive, while collaborating with you to identify new patterns that allow you to live a life beyond mere survival. I challenge the idea that anything is “wrong” with you and model compassion for the survival mechanisms that have gotten you this far.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker associate (SC61471285) and I have been in practice for 3 years. I am currently being supervised by Danielle Winterwood, LICSW (LW60922280).
